VISA: a travel document issued by authorized government agencies to foreign citizens applying to enter, exit from or transit through the host country’s territory based on the host country’s laws and regulations. Each individual sovereign nation has the ability to regulate visa lengths, fees, and admissions.
How to apply? More and more countries are moving toward an online visa application system that makes it easy for short-term tourist to obtain a visa. The old-school method is to require documents to be filled out and photos to be taken and delivered directly to the local consulate, which is an extension of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for that specific country.
Step 1: go to https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html
Step 2: navigate to your specific country page (using the given map under the “Country Information” tab). This will give basic information, but you must go to the actual country website to get the most up to date information. A link will be provided.
Step 3: navigate to the specific country’s page and search for your desired information. You will find here the most up to date info on how to apply and the fees involved.
